OBITUARY

Stanley M. Ackerman

Stanley M. Ackerman, passed with dignity at home on Friday January 11, at the age of 78. He admirably faced kidney dialysis treatments for the last 16 years of his life. Beloved husband for 53 years of Charlene (nee Berger). Loving father of Bruce and Michael Ackerman and the late Shari Leah Ackerman. Proud grandfather of Annie Drew and Blake Ackerman. Caring father in law of Jennifer Goldmann. Dear brother-in-law of Rosalyn (Morton) Munk. Cherished uncle of Dr. Stephen (Barbara) Munk. Dito Sabaricos was his faithful and devoted caregiver. Dear cousins and students around the world. Beloved music educator, conductor, violinist, viola player, chamber music coach, and public school orchestra director for over 40 years. Interment private. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Congregation B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim, 1201 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. Stan was a legendary orchestra teacher in Waukegan, and I was pleased to have a chance to know him.
