Joe lives on in the memory of those who knew and loved him dearly, and in the memory of those whom he knew and understood so very well. We were room mates at the CG Academy for a year. But much more than that. We shared our hopes and aspirations. He understood me better than I did myself and said that I would be in the Coast Guard for the rest of my life. I poo-poo'd the idea, and then spent the next 37 years fulfilling his prediction. Sail on good friend.

Lois,

When I think of Joe, my mind's eye always recall his and my brother Brian's preference for plaid flannel shirts as they sat side by side in high school band. They were friends as well as talented at several instruments.

I recall when the two of you started dating and you quickly became "Couple of the Year" in 1956.

God has blessed the two of you with many years of happiness and success. As you go forward in life you will remember and cherish the many memories you shared as the pain of the past year fades.

God bless you my friend of 70 years.
Much love,
Jeannie
