What can words say? Don was a great person and always upbeat and friendly in spite of his many long years dealing with his disability. He found a way to come to synagogue no matter the weather outside on his motorized scooter. Family, friends and synagogue were his life. At the morning breakfast on Sunday at SVAJ I enjoyed bringing him coffee with 3 Splendas and cream. Always a great conversationalist. He will be missed by everybody. My deepest sympathies to Eleanor and the entire Kirshner family. May the family know of no more sorrows.

One of those who welcomed us and other new members of Skokie Valley, and one who looked forward to participating in its rebirth. Happy we could help him regain the joy of leading the davening after years of not having had the opportunity to do so. A rare person who was genuinely happy for others. A real loss for the community and, of course, for his wonderful family.
