OBITUARY
Naomi Bernards Polonsky died peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Naomi was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Polonsky and the proud mother of her dear sons, Daniel M. Polonsky and Jonathan M. Polonsky. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Franklin and Tallulah Polonsky, her daughter-in-law Carrie Polonsky and by her brother, David (Kathy) Bernards. Naomi earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Chicago as well as a degree in Music from Northeastern University. She performed and recorded Jewish folk music with Chicago’s revered Halevi Choral Society in Israel and around the world, also making solo vocal and guitar performances. Naomi was a woman of great integrity, generosity and intelligence who showed genuine care for all. She was committed to contributing to improving the lives of others, being active in several organizations, many which embodied her love for Jewish culture, language and humanistic values. Naomi’s life is celebrated by her family and her many friends. Service Sunday, 12 noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
