OBITUARY

Carol Faingold, 72, of Springfield, passed away at 12:05 am Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Chicago, January 7, 1944 the daughter of Emanuel and Sylvia (Waller) Baskin. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Carl Faingold in Chicago, June 21, 1964. Carol is survived by her husband Carl, a professor at SIU School of Medicine, her children: Scott (companion Sarah Mueth) Faingold of Springfield, Rob (wife Trisha) Faingold of Loveland, OH, and Chuck Faingold of Jerusalem, Israel, her four grandchildren; Noah Faingold of Madison, WI, Samantha and Ryan Faingold of Loveland, OH, and Emanuel Faingold of Jerusalem, Israel, her sister, Rhonda (husband Rusty) Cohen of Highland Park, IL, three nephews; Jeffery (wife Courtney) Cohen of Deerfield, IL, Lee (wife Jessica) Cohen and Gary (wife Leslie) Cohen both of Highland Park, IL, her God son David Kaye of Springfield, IL and her dear companion, Sparky the family dog and several other nieces and nephews. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield, Carol was the founder and teacher of the Springfield Jewish Nursery School. She later retired as an executive secretary at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. She was a member of Temple Israel, Hadassah, the Springfield Jewish Federation and the Temple Sisterhood. Service: Wednesday, May 4, 2016 12 Noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove, IL Rabbi Barry Marks will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
