OBITUARY

Jonah K. Oxman, 91, Skokie, died January 30

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lea (nee Ichkowitz), daughters Michelle (Bob Drake), Hillarie Mankoff (Brad), and Suzanne Hatt Lipscomb (Peter), and grandchildren Fiona, Ragnar, and Morgan Riley and Benjamin Drake. Jonah served in the army during World War II and remained in the army reserve for more than 30 years, retiring as a colonel. He worked in the news departments at Channels 2, 5, and 7 and taught at Columbia, Oakton, and Harper Colleges. Jonah was a lifelong supporter of the ACLU and freedom of the press. We all will miss his warmth and unique sense of humor. Service Monday, 2PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Shalom.
