OBITUARY
Carol Hillman was born on June 22, 1949 in Cicero, Illinois to Anita S. and James J. Hillman. She grew up in Wilmette, attended New Trier High School and later attended the University of Wisconsin and DePaul University. She was a passionate, caring and generous woman whose support for social justice never waivered. She was a volunteer for the Illinois Labor Society and wrote their podcasts, Labor History 2, a short historical description of important moments in labor history. She was a board member of the Clinic Vest Project, dedicated to providing free clinical escort vests to groups that service facilities supporting the full range of reproductive health options including safe and legal abortions. Her dedication to making the world safer and more economically just permeated everything she did and earned her many friends. She was a pianist who loved playing Broadway or Labor tunes, wrote poetry for family and friends' celebrations and loved being a part of the Hillman clan. Her sister, Peggy, passed away on August 31, 2015. She is survived by her sister Barbara Hillman and the many cousins and friends who found her humor and good natured heart endearing.
The family is receiving condolences at the home of Barbara J. Hillman, Sunday, November 22nd from 1PM to 5PM.
