Gilbert Gavlin, age 94

Beloved husband of the late Carolyn, nee Epting. Loving father of Suzanne (Robert) Cluff, Nancy Gavlin, and Patricia Kay. Proud grandfather of Timothy, Stephanie, Brett and Esme. Dear brother of the late Howard (the late Doris) Gavlin. Cherished brother-in-law of Merlee (the late Kenneth) Stuck, Joan (the late David) Ringer, the late Donald (the late Elizabeth) Epting and the late Darr Epting, and the late Kibler (Adrid) Epting. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial service Sunday, 10:00 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Gil, we will miss you terribly. You were a wonderful friend of 70 years to my father Elliot and your kindness to him in his last years was exceptional. I was happy to have spoken to you a month ago, and was shocked at this terrible news. G-D bless and our sincere condolences to the family.

Doc,

Sure am sorry to see you pass on. I had just been thinking about you and hoping I could get you out to see my lab and the latest changes I had made.
You treated us all like family back in the Custom Organics days. You put up with all the grief that we all would give you and rarely raised your voice. In return you got exceptional loyality and dedication.
I didn't appreciate everything you taught we back then until years later. The foundation you laid has helped me be successful. Thanks for all that knowledge.
My wife Donna really liked you and was shocked to hear that you have left us. I guess all future holiday greetings will be via the spiritual channel.
My condolences to the family. It's a great loss; but his spirit will live on within all of us.

Gil, I'm gonna miss ya' at the Leaning Tower YMCA. I always liked to shot out "Gil Net sir!" When I saw you on the exercise bike. You always gave me that great smile.
